The Sealcoating Process

  1. We remove all dirt and debris from the asphalt with power blowers, scrapers, and metal wire brushes. Debris can consist of dirt, dust, grass clippings, mulch, pebbles, moss, small puddles, and grass growing in cracks (in some instances we ask our customers to spray grass growing through the driveway with weed-killer).

  2. We then treat all fresh oil (or any oil based chemical) stains with petro-seal primer. The primer covers the stains, and permits the sealer to bond with the asphalt. Old oil stains are easily covered by our sealer, and therefore do not need to be primed.

  3. Any large cracks (¼" or greater) will be filled with liquid or trowel grade crack filler, depending on the type of crack. Smaller hairline cracks are sealed by the sealant itself. (Florida customers: we do not pre-treat cracks. We sealcoat each driveway with a heavy sand fortified mixture.)

  4. After properly preparing the asphalt, our experienced crews apply a premium sealer to your driveway with squeegees.
